In recognition of Veterans Day and America’s 250th anniversary, Elevation and AMA Richmond invite you to a special evening celebrating history, service and the power of storytelling.

The evening will begin with a special panel discussion exploring Elevation’s collaboration with the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. The conversation will look back at Elevation’s work surrounding the 75th anniversary of D-Day, including the powerful “Pass the Flag” campaign, which honored D-Day veterans while helping introduce their stories to a new generation.

The panel will also explore how that work continues today and how moments in popular culture, including the release of PRESSURE, can create new opportunities to preserve, share and bring greater attention to important chapters of American history.

Following the panel, guests will enjoy a special screening of PRESSURE, starring Brendan Fraser as General Dwight D. Eisenhower. The film tells the remarkable true story of the tense days leading up to D-Day and the critical weather decision that helped determine the timing of the Allied invasion of Normandy.

As America commemorates 250 years, the evening provides a timely opportunity to honor those who served and explore how history, creativity and storytelling can keep their legacy alive for generations to come.

Key Takeaways:

  • Turning history into relevant storytelling — Learn how Elevation approached the 75th anniversary of D-Day and transformed an important historical milestone into a campaign that could connect with audiences today.
  • The story behind “Pass the Flag” — Hear how the campaign was developed, how D-Day veterans became central to the creative, and why authentic storytelling mattered.
  • Finding the cultural connection — Explore how the release of PRESSURE created a new opportunity to bring attention to the National D-Day Memorial and introduce the D-Day story to new audiences.
  • Marketing a moment without exploiting it — Discuss the balance between promotion, historical accuracy, emotion and respect when marketing around veterans, sacrifice and significant historical events.
  • A lesson for America 250 — See how brands, agencies, destinations and organizations can identify the part of America's story they authentically own and use the 250th anniversary to create something meaningful rather than simply adding “250” to a campaign.
  • Experience the story on screen — Following the conversation, see PRESSURE and the events leading to D-Day through a new lens, with Brendan Fraser portraying General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
